Well here it is kiddies My adventure through the PTQ as I recall it.
I showed up on saturday ready with R/W control which to me at the time was the strongest deck choice but in the mirror could be deadly, i decided to pilot 1 maindeck decree of annihilation just to secure game1 of the mirror.
Round 1 : christian Blanchard (U/B aggro)
Playing off againsta rogue deck made him think this game was just a pushover. Game 1 was pretty slow gettin rift down on 5th turn and stopping all threats he played. Turn 8 i pop out akroma for win.

Game2 was a little bit stranger it seemed that every time i played a creature decree of pain would flush it away but still keeping us at balanced life, it came down to me playing a rift and him play stabilizer shuttin down my rift =(. He plays twisted abomination and ive got nuthin.

Game3 we had 15min to spare and we hadda to be fast:
Onturn 2 he dropped stabilizer shutting down my rift. he was stuck at 4 lands for some time and gave me the opprotunity to kil him with multiple dragins within time.

Round2 david steim r/w control mirror
game1 was me gettin to see his deck, nothing actually happens til he plays akroma on turn 7 with help form temple and doesnt attack thinking about the shards. next turn he cycles decree of annihilation and i scoop.

game2 was a big standoff with us playing creatures thn kil ing many many times until he runs out of spells and i win with akroma.

game3 i get off decree of annihilation on turn 10 with him having 10 lands out and me having 2 in my hand and eternal dragon. he gets many lands after me and has the advantage with me at 10 life he plays searing flesh and a second one... never saw that coming.

Round3 stefan r/w control
first game starts off like every mirror match except for melaying the rift before him and me laying the cycle beats. a little more later i play arkoma and attack with him having nothing. next turn akroma again and he pulls out winghsards. i then play my second akroma and he scoops.

second game is verrrry long probably about 25 min with us going back and forth on eternal dragons, akromas, and him with exalted angels getting killed and smashed by vengence. finally he pulls out 3rd akroma and i cant handle it

weve got 10 minleft and for the most part it was pretty even game until he started TO STALL or at least i thought he was. knowing that he has wing shards in hand i lay akroma and dont attack hopeing for a decree of annihilation seeing that i have 2 in deck after SB. none come up before game is over and we tie. i flip over my next 2 cards and there it is >< I HATE STALLS!
standing after round 3 1-1-1
seeing that iwasnt doing so well i was thinking of leaving and just goin to a concert but decided to stay to see what happens if i lose once more im out.
round 4 walter henderson bad form
even tho he had tied for first at last nites tounament i thought my chances were verry good and i wasnt let down. first game rift is laid i and i go to cycle haven. with him having noo way of killing akroma i play and run him over.

next game was even bigger as i lay rift again on second turn and he gets it on thrid which is met by a wipeclean. again the akroma comes out to end the game

with maindeck head games, and wipecleans i thought it was game over for me but it was hardly that.
first game im met by a head games on 5th turn which screws up my game a little but thankfully eternal drgaon help form my graveyard. keeping his creatures at bay with startstroms and vengence i stabilize the board and repeatevly play eternal dragons until all wing shards are gone and MR. dragon and his bitch akroma come in for the kill.

another damn 5th turn head games meets with dragon again in the graveyard. the game looks pretty even with us wing sharding and venegencing alot during this game. after hes at 7 cards in hand i sees i have 1 and hes at 6 like akroma comes down and attcks "got the shards".....he doesnt.

im sitting at 3-1-1 thats one win away fomr guarenteed top 8 and i was thinking of leaving?

i start the game with a rift on second,third,and fourth turn to smash.

he comments that his deck was designed for the rift matchup and i was just lucky. i draw into 3 again and i guess im even luckier =D

game 1 he is very string with his plays and jusrt dominates me with force.

second game isnt any different except for after making 4 1/1 from decree he annihilates all the land and pokes me until im dead.

all in all it was a good day seeing that i had only played the deck for a wekk befoe the tourney. hopefully extended season will be just as good cause i have been practicing way more for my favorite format.
